My Idaho Bicycle Life 2018 Into 2019

January 1, 2019 Bicycle Adventures Self Improvement 0

Dear Diary,

I have to admit that I haven’t been very good about keeping you updated on all of my bicycle exploits this year. And my only explanation is… it really hasn’t been all that exciting. Or so I thought.

Once I committed to riding my bicycle or walking instead of driving it became a part of my daily life and routine, so it stopped being a novelty or something that I thought I needed to talk about.

Full Year of Riding Not Driving

But, now that I have successfully spent an entire year using my bicycle as my main form of transportation I think I need to talk more about the experience. I want people to know they can do it too. It doesn’t require special clothing, I wear my every day clothes to ride, and the savings reaped from not having to pay for gasoline, maintenance, etc. etc. allows me to do more of what I LOVE to do. Travel a bit more and I get to eat and drink out more often.

So this year Dear Diary, I am committing to writing every day and sharing my experiences no matter how small. Because my 5 mile round trip commute to my office, trips to run errands, and my rides for fun makes someone else get on their bicycle and leave the car at home even once per week. I have accomplished what I have set out to do. Create a healthy, happier, cleaner place for all of us to live!

Goals for 2019

In 2019 I want to hit or exceed the 2000 miles ridden goal I set for this year, make #CarFreeSunday a thing here in Coeur d’Alene, help my fellow business owners to be successful, and keep Lake City Bicycle Collective solvent so it can continue to do what it does for the community.

Cheers to 2018, Cheers to 2019, and Cheers to YOU!
