How Do You Stay Comfortable While Riding a Bicycle and Still Look Fabulous?
(This post will mainly be directed at female cyclists, but anyone can take some snippet away that they can use.)
If you are like me, one of the obstacles that always prevented me from bicycle commuting is…What do I wear? This is a dilemma that I don’t think I am alone in having. For me, the only time I wear spandex is when it is nicely concealed under my clothing (i.e. Spanx). Plus, biking attire can be too casual for work and who wants to wear their bicycle wear on a night out. Now you could always put your street clothes into a backpack and change when you arrive, but let’s be honest. Who wants to do that? Not me! Besides, don’t we all want to be comfortable while we ride, but look fabulous when we arrive? I do! I do!
That is why I am on a quest to find the perfect melding of bicycle comfort and style. This goes for clothing, under-clothing, accessories and necessities. One of my own experimentations, (wearing my Pearl Izumi bicycle shorts under my jeans with my knee-high leather boots), was successful. Now I just want to do more. There has to be a way to remain comfortable in the saddle while looking fabulous off. Because lets face it ladies, no one likes helmet hair, sweat stains or a sore bum. Which are all things that stop some women, girls, ladies and yes even men from choosing to bike to work, meetings, events, a night out etc. etc. This can be especially true for those of us that are self-employed. Having a flexible schedule gives us a bit more wiggle room with time and opportunities to ride our bicycles. Because, if we can, we should choose to leave the car parked when possible.
So, I will be adding some posts specifically related to bicycle fashion tips and tricks to the site. The tips and tricks with be ones that I have discovered personally, or I stumble upon online. Either way, the posts will hopefully help you avoid a sore bottom and arrive fashionably at your next Rubber Tire Adventure. Wherever that may be!
