Celebrate the New U.S. Bicycle Route #10 in Sandpoint #BikeIdaho

October 5, 2015 Bicycle News 2

Come join us in Sandpoint this coming Friday (October 9th, 2015) at 2PM in Farmin Park! Tom and I will be in Sandpoint for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Will be bringing our bikes to possibly join the Pend Orville Pedalers for the ride. It all depends on where they plan on going and how far.

Representatives from Governor Otter’s Office, the Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Smart Growth and others host a U.S. Bicycle Route #10 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 2 p.m. in Farmin Park in Sandpoint Idaho. Pend Oreille Pedalers will lead a ride along the route directly after the event.

The scenic USBR 10 traverses 66 miles across the Idaho Panhandle before continuing on into the states of Washington and Montana. It features services such as restaurants, bikes shops, lodging, camping, grocery stores, and emergency services in the communities of Oldtown, Priest River, Dover, Sandpoint, Ponderay, Kootenai, Hope, East Hope, and Clark Fork.

Great excuse to play hooky from work and take a road/bike trip! Heck, you could even make it a weekend getaway and stay in Sandpoint! Or…if you are in Coeur d’Alene or surrounding area Bike Talks is Saturday (October 10th) morning at 8:30am at Calypsos Coffee on Lakeside in downtown. Come talk about all things bicycle and get some info about how Coeur d’Alene is progressing in its quest to achieve the Silver Status for Bicycle Friendly Communities (one step closer to Gold).
