Almost The End of June 2019

Not Writing As Much as I Had Hoped So, I haven’t been as diligent as I had hoped about keeping up on posting more often. Did really well for a week or two and then crickets. There have been things to write about that is not the problem, I simply havent been making the time. Isn’t that really what all of us struggle with, TIME? For me I can get into a routine of doing something for quite a bit of time, but at some point I get derailed. I sleep in one day and stay up too late another. I don’t keep control of my schedule and book myself…

Monday Morning Ride May 20th, 2019

Hello Coeur d’Alene! It is Monday and I had a few meetings, plus a visit to the office for a couple of hours. I reached my 4000+ mile mark over the weekend which means now I can work toward my next goal of 2000 miles in 2019 (already at 500+) with the ultimate goal of 10,000. The 10,000 will be a while, but it is all about the journey!!! Still working on getting more focused and organized as well as getting back into doing intermittent fasting. The Zero App helps me to keep on track with that, but debating whether I want to start tracking calories again or simply eat…

Full Moon Bike Ride May 2019

Couldn’t have come up with a better way to ride the last 5+ miles I needed to reach the 4000-mile marker! Still, a bit peeved about the hack job on my website, but I always believe that good things can come from even crappy stuff. The good that is coming out of this is I have been wanting to add some features to the website that I hadn’t gotten around to. Now I can add those things while making sure they are going to fit with the goals I have for the site. Goals For The Website Encourage More People to Get Out of Their Motor Vehicles No Special Clothing…

    Rebuilding Website – F-U Hackers

Well, what a lovely surprise I got today. From 10 PM on Wednesday night to today at 1:30 PM hackers compromised my website and were redirecting people to a malware site. Did everything I could on my end to try and remove the redirect and GoDaddy wanted me to pay $300 for software to fix it. I opted to delete everything and start over with an entirely new database and website. Faster and cheaper, unless you count the hours it is going to take me to recreate some of my content. (Secretly thinking the automobile industry has black hat hackers on their payroll out compromising any site that may make…

    Creating a Stronger Community

As I get older, I realize that I can’t just “live” in my space.  I feel the pull to create a better world for those around me; especially those that come after.  When we strive to create vibrant, healthy, and financially viable communities it is better for everyone. Coeur d’Alene is already doing a pretty good job, but there is always room for improvement. Let’s start to put PEOPLE first in everything we do. We need to create a community that is safe for all people. Whether you are a person walking, biking, taking public transit, are a disabled individual, or driving. Let’s create public spaces filled with local artists…

    My Musings & Resources

Here is where I will share insights from my own personal bicycle riding experiences in Coeur d’Alene and around the rest of the state of Idaho. Letting you see what I see from the seat of my bicycle I hope it will encourage you to get out on your bicycle more! I also encourage you to embrace smart growth of  your community. I want businesses to succeed by being economically viable. We can help them by spending our money in locally owned restaurants, shops, and with local service providers. Plus, choosing to walk or bike instead of drive makes it healthier for all. But especially you! MULTI-MODAL FRIENDLY — PEOPLE…

We Are Less Connected Than Ever

Although the internet and social media make it seem like we are more connected; we are less connected than we ever have been. And…this is coming from someone whose work life revolves around the internet and social media. I know and appreciate their value, but I also can’t forget to disconnect and get out into the fresh air as often as I can. This is especially important if you are self-employed and running your own business. This is where having a business coach can help you to be able to run your business in a way that will allow you to find the time to step away.
