Creating a Stronger Community
As I get older, I realize that I can’t just “live” in my space. I feel the pull to create a better world for those around me; especially those that come after. When we strive to create vibrant, healthy, and financially viable communities it is better for everyone.
We Are Less Connected Than Ever
Although the internet and social media make it seem like we are more connected; we are less connected than we ever have been. And…this is coming from someone whose work life revolves around the internet and social media.
I know and appreciate their value, but we also can’t forget to disconnect and get out into the fresh air as often as we can.
Having a business coach can help you to be able to run your buisness in a way that will allow you to find the time.
The Secret to Success
We need to create a community that is safe for all people. Whether you are a person walking, biking, taking public transit, or driving. Let’s create public spaces, filled with art from local artists, where people want to be. Not more concrete superhighways.
Coeur d’Alene is already doing a pretty good job, but there is always room for improvement. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Coeur d’Alene became the model for other cities to follow? Let’s start to put PEOPLE first in everything that we do.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart. —
For a community to be whole and healhty, it must be based on people’s love and concern for each other —
People walking, biking, taking public transit, or driving should have a system that supports them all.
Putting People First
Build places that people want to be. Bring back community. Not pave paradise.

REASON PEOPLE DON’T BICYCLE – LACK OF ACCESS
I am a wife, mother, business coach, community organizer, mulit-modal transportation advocate, an almost everyday cyclist, and promoter of all things fabulous.
I have over 20 years of experience as a business owner and business consultant. My areas of expertise are varied, including the last 10 years running my own marketing company focused on online marketing (SEO/SEM, websites, and social media). But I have extensive experience with hospitality, tourism, construction, real estate, and education.
My Musings & Resources
Here is where I will share insights from my own personal bicycle riding experiences in Coeur d’Alene and around the rest of the state of Idaho. Letting you see what I see from the seat of my bicycle I hope it will encourage you to get out on your bicycle more!
I also encourage you to embrace smart growth of your community. I want businesses to succeed by being economically viable. We can help them by spending our money in locally owned restaurants, shops, and with local service providers. Plus, choosing to walk or bike instead of drive makes it healthier for all. But especially you!
MULTI-MODAL FRIENDLY — PEOPLE FIRST — THE ARTS
Something curious happened to me the other day. While browsing the internet I came across some pretty scathing reviews of Netflix’s new movie “Bright”. In spite of the reviews, I decided I would watch it anyway. I pride myself on being “open-minded” and capable of forming my own opinions. What happened while watching it was not what I expected though.Read more
